JSCW Winterbourne Gunner in 1956 written by Frank Hugo
My friend Barry ayres and I were having a lazy hour waiting for a new course of Officers and SNCO’s to experience the gas chambers as part of their training course. I had my camera and we larked about on an old RAF Meteor which had been on site for many years.Barry was a great pal. I believe he came from Blaby in Leicestershire. He was well liked by the girls too because of his long eyelashes. He was also great with a cricket bat, going in at No. 9 or 10 and smashing the ball all over the park. I’d love to hear from barry or anyone else who was with me at JSCW during 1955 - 1958. Barry Funnell, Taff Owen, Sid Julian, ? Smitherham or any of the Army bods who were there, cooks and Pioneer Corps. |
