CINCFLEET, in 1951 written by edward w mustard
going from about 1 1 1950 ii was serving on the corunna we were in sardinia friday night a tele gram my mother was very ill .compassionate leave 4 weeks .home by train .taking about 30 hrs .ma died .went back to pembroke in ther till 12/ 7/ 51 met a hoppo daisy Adams .on the same course also A Cornell and cinderby we were to spend the next 2 to 3 yrs as shipmates on the constance . in the ordanance dept spending a yr up thre coast of korea .very dodgy at times and somtimes very exciting we were there whenthe truce was signed in july 1953 ’piad off in nov1953 back home new yrs eve. |
