Malaya. in 2010 written by Ken Garner
617 Canberra’s were in Malaya, we were dropping 1,000lb bombs on the terrs, we assumed they didn’t like it! We didn’t like it when a Canberra taxied in after a mission and when he opened his bomb doors, a thousand pounder crunched onto the tarmac! Luckily it hadn’t fallen far enough to arm, scare over! The RAAF shared the station with us, they were tickling the terrs with rockets. They were a grand lot of lads. After all that heat and sun, we arrived home in Decamber, brrrr.
