RAF Akrotiri, , 3LAA Wing Christmas Broadcasti, Cyprus in 1959

 I recorded the RAF Regiment poem "The Gunner" at the Cyprus Broadcasting Studios for the 1959 Christmas Program on the Overseas Forces Broadcasting Service. 3LAA Wing won a one hour slot in the Christmas Broadcast for raising the most money in a charity raffle. Our one hour program was used to play music and send messages to family and friends back in the UK. The DJ for the records and messages was a gunner named "Mugsy"... a well known personality in our regiment lines. |
