Suez Canal in 1958

 First H.M.Ship to traverse the canal after the 56 fiasco Loch Alvie used the canal to make the shortest route to the Persian Gulf. (Only one solitary vessel in the Gulf then) We relieved Loch Fada
Remember manning ops room whilst echo sounder traced the canal bed for obstructions. The Egyptian pilot was very amused at our attemts to conceal our actions.
