Malta Barracks in 1957 written by Rodney H. May
Have so many memories , could right a book ,this particular memory happened in the NAAFI billiard room.
We were trying to play by shoving the white ball with
our hands as there were no cues . After a while of playing some more junior sappers came in and one of them thinking he was funny sent a ball across the table and hit my hand . Naturally it hurt so I picked a ball up
and threw it at him , that very moment an RP walked in . Next morning I was hat and belt off marched in on a charge . Well how's this for a turn up for the books .
The RP was told to go and me to go out and put my cap
and belt on and go back in . At the time I wondered
what the heck was going on , one of my thoughts was
being sent to the Arctic , anyway Capt.Thomas said an eye
had been kept on me and all the rest of it and I
left the room being told to put my first tape up .
