 First trip out as a boy seaman, galley party, peeling spuds into one sink and throwing up in another. Happy days. Swing that lamp.Qualifying as a shallow water diver in Malta. First dive on board, topped my gear up with welding oxygen instead of breathing oxygen. wondered why I could not breath. Divers rate removed. No second chance from the diving officer, he did’nt want me on the course anyway. Never mind qualified on compressed air in Guz. Second commish is not a good memory, got caught up in a 5 in tow wire, unfit for sea 18 months. |
