I was going back to camp with my mate Seth Makepeace, it was pouring with rain and the coach was full of squadies comming back from town. Seth said to me as we get nearer the camp I will stand up and block the exit and you slide under the bar and we will be the first to book in, Seth was a large fellow. I duly did this and slid straight out of the bus and landed in a rather large puddle and the buses rear wheels missed my head by inches.
I was a bit stunned and when I came to the bus had gone on and I was left soaking wet and muddy. I made my way back to camp and was confronted by the guard commander who did not believe my story, where was Seth? tucked up in bed. Fortunatly the sargent decided I was telling the truth and let go back to my billet
