16 Parachute Heavy Drop Company in 1964 written by Thomas Currie
Installing Heavy Drop loads in to the Argosy Aircraft at RAF Benson, soon to be follwed by the Beverley at RAF Abingdon. Having installed the loads we would then emplane to parachute on to Watchfield DZ.The exit from the Bev Boom an experience not to be forgotten then after a few circuits the heavy drop wouldland hopefully intact dependant on all sort of factors a Quick De Rig and then a few hundred metre recovery to the Heavy Drop Hangars.This routine soon to be replaced by the C130 |
