Abadan Iranian oil crisis in 1952 written by john waddington
Remember the heat and sweat rash, salt tablats ect. Some of the lads fainting in the engine rooms, and having to finnish their watch, when you had hardly got to sleep after finnishing your own watch. After Abadan it was Dyaterlawa for a well earned rest!!A commaner course having to soposedly protect a hill from the marines who were ordered to take it.I never saw one marine but they had got past!!Not to worry it was only kidding and after all I was only a stoker, shows how good our marines are though. now a civvy wishing he had stayed in the Navy for the full 21.Will be nice to hear from some old mates if they remember me. |

There is nothing worse than breaking down. But if you do, the RAC have more than 1,500 patrols ready to rescue you, whether you are at the shops or on the motorway. They will always try to fix your vehicle at the roadside, but if they cant they will make getting it repaired as painless as possible.
