Father-in-law - Lt Col John Awdry (Retired) in 2007

 This is the most profound moment in my life, my father-in-law Lt Col John Awdry (retired) of 1st Bat, Parachute Regiment.
Here was a man I really admired, I wish I had served in his time.
He was held in high regard, but was the most humble of people I have ever met. A real gentleman from the old school. Sadly he passed away Christmas 2008, and he is very much missed by all the family. Related to the Rev Awdry author of the Thomas the Tank Engine stories. |
