Ceylon in 1947 written by Jack Westcott
I was Stationed for a short while at Radio SEAC at the Transmitters at New Ekela outside of Colombo. We transmitted to all Spheres of the Far East and had letters from as far as Canada claiming to have picked-up our Transmitions. The Highlight of the week was on Sunday "Forces Favorites" beamed to England, sending Greetings to loved-ones from serving men including a favorite record. We also Relayed the Test series from Australia as the short wave bands were not too reliable. The Transmitters were in a Cocoanut Plantation and the Studios were in a large house in Columbo.Anyone remember these transmitions? |

There is nothing worse than breaking down. But if you do, the RAC have more than 1,500 patrols ready to rescue you, whether you are at the shops or on the motorway. They will always try to fix your vehicle at the roadside, but if they cant they will make getting it repaired as painless as possible.
