Suez Adabiya Docks in 1952 written by David Bywood
I remember staying in 156 Transit camp for one night and then it was by some coach to Adabiya. Unfortunately I was detailed as a look out and what happened was with the heat I kept dozing off. Eventually we reached Elpninstone Camp and it was a very rude awakening as it was the back of beyond, but we did have some good times. anyone who served there will surely remember the two ships we worked on. The Empires, Chubb and Roach loadin stores for the Arab Legion and for the Squadron Based in Aquaba. Would love to hear from anyone who remembers me or who served there for that matter. |
