 THE GREEN MAGGOT RACE!
ON A HOT OCTOBER NIGHT IN 1976' THE 1ST BATTALION RRF WERE CAMPED ON A HILLSIDE
IN THEIR SLEEPING BAGS WHEN IT STARTED TO RAIN HEAVY,
SOME BODS HAD EARLIER OPTED TO KIP UNDER CANVAS OTHERS LESS FORTUNATE HAD OPTED TO KIP OUTDOORS IN OUR GREEN MAGGOT SLEEPING BAGS!
THE PHRASE DID THE EARTH MOVE TOOK ON A WHOLE NEW MEANING AS ONE BY ONE STILL HALF ASLEEP OUR MAGGOTS STARTED TO MOVE DOWNHIL GATHERING MOMENTO
