20 Maritime Regiment in 2008 written by David Morrel Commerford
Considering what a unique organisation we were I am suprised at how few memories are recorded here. We crewed ships. Dressed over the years in a variety of variations on a Naval theme we finaly settled on Naval working dress(No8s)for day to day with Army uniform for shore duties. The ships, now sadly long gone, were 1000 ton. landing craft with a mixture of smaller craft in places as far appart as Hong-Kong, Singapore. Borneo,Aden,Bahrein, and the U.K. The main task in the U.K. was the resuply of the Hebridean outposts.A Maritime regiment still exists though it's role is now much changed So come on you boys in blue lets have a few letters to keep the memories alive. |

There is nothing worse than breaking down. But if you do, the RAC have more than 1,500 patrols ready to rescue you, whether you are at the shops or on the motorway. They will always try to fix your vehicle at the roadside, but if they cant they will make getting it repaired as painless as possible.
