KNELLER HALL TWICKENHAM in 1971 written by James Westhead
My first posting and course,1 year of brilliance,Met and saw members from all parts of the empire and various british regiments. All races, colours and creeds.Had a great time learning my craft as a Regimental Muscician.Made many friends who i lost touch with after, and some i met up with along the way during my career..It was a real proffesional set up,and to this day i still consider it,the best 12 months of my Army days.I was in,1 squad "A" company, led by Norman Rogerson, and Fred Clarke. My room mates were Jeffries(Light inf).Mick Kenyon(Royal Sigs).Dennis Atkinson(Blues/royals)M???Bates(9/12 Lancers)Derek Orchard(R.A)Kevin Tout (Coldstream Guards)Smudger Smith.(Kings Reg). What days, and i was the wally of the group. But that said, ther were great friends, colleagues and muscicians..... |
