darts in 2008 written by sylvia Burrows, [nee] penman
does anyone remember the dart competition in Raf Uxbridge boys and girls. the sections included the qcs, regiment, dental hospital, admin, signals an other departments..
The final came down to a young signals guy and my self. both of us were on doulbe one.
I did say only needed one dart lol. And guess what, I won. This was 1964 or 65.My friend jackie and I were known as the practical jokers on camp.
We were only reponsibible for a few but unfortunately got the blame for some of which we were innocent of.
We did attempt to remove the qcs flag from the building on the parade square, and replace it with a pair of bloomers
but we were caught in the act. pity.
I have lost of gr8 memories of that time
and wish I could met old friends on line as Uxbridge is being disbanded I hear. South is a museum already.
such great memories of fantastic times.
Of all the boys I met and kissed I dont think there was anyone that wasn’t a nice guy.. Most of the young men I knew were genltmen with a gr8 sense of humour.
Mike u were one of a kind. thanks for teaching me snooker.
Pete/jack I’ll never forget your handsome face, there was so much I should have said and didnt.
Those wenesday evening as disc jockeys on the camp radio were unforgettable. Our favourite song was by petula clark "Love this is my song". mmmmmmm how we danced as the records played. It was so much fun.
Alan you came into my life at a time when I really needed you, I still remember how u made me laugh, and how I grew form polo mints to jelly babies.
a light went out of my life when I had to part ways with u all. If you see this post I hope you have all had and are having a great life. |
