I was posted to Wyton in August 1955 from airframe mechanic training at Kirkham. I was posted onto Radar Recce Flt,as an airframe mech on Lincoln aircraft.Radar recce flt.also had 3 canberras on the flt which were hangered in the same hanger in which the 543 sqdn Valiant blew up.
I went on a fitters course at Kirkham in 1957 and on completion of training refurned to R,R.Flt as a J/T.I went on a Victor Makers course in readiness for the change over from Lincoln to Victors.
I stayed on R.R.Flt until 1959,when i was internally posted to Station Flt,for 3 months when i was posted to ASF on promotion to Cpl and ASF was starting to do 2nd line servicing on the Victors.I stayed in ASF until May 1961 when i was posted to Khormasker.
