Hong Kong in 1976

 I will always remember the stench off rotten eggs, as I left the plane at Kai Tak airport in January 1976.RSM Pascoe who met us off the plane,the amount off personel running two and fro looking for any-body who had a RAZOR.I was in the 1st Bttn The Light Infantry[3 pl A-Coy].I was one off the guys who got collared to take MFO boxes to the married quarters.The night life was great,every thing was so cheap,the beer was only 20p a pint £2 you could get totally trousered[$20HK ,to-days money that would cost you £20].Working with the Gurka Regiments was a great honour thier fitness was out off this world.The Mamma-San's stopping you in the street to ask [You want young girl love you long time $10HK].They were selling thier own daughters,funny thing is the price shot up when the Yank's come ashore[$50-$100HK or they would even take $50-$100 USA money.The prices in the shop's was the same,they would turn the price cards around to show $US.It was a good tour though I enjoyed every minuate off it,it's one off those posting's that you only dream about,not every-body are as lucky as we were,plus the tours to Bruneii,Korea & New Zealand. If your not a mummy's boy or girl take it from me & thousand of others in the UK join up ,it's a brilliant life and if your as lucky as I was then you can see the world.Don't let places like Ulster put you off,theres places like that all over the world.
