S.E.A.C. Hong KONG. in 1945 written by THOMAS BARNES
On V.J day on HMS.smiter we went into Hong Kong to take off the Portugese internees from Stanley camp. It was only then that the full horror of the way the Japanese treated their prisoners was brought home to us.What I didn't know, was that my brother, was in the commando group that actually took the camp & that in 1963,my daughter would marry the son of one of those survivors.Small world isn't it? |
