Queens Colour Squadron, RAF. in 1971 written by Bruce Fisher
Driving the Queen's Colour Squadron around the country was a great job. They could be a bit rowdy at times, but they were a great bunch of lads. Amongst other trips I took them to RAF Mountbatten, Catterick, and those terrific evenings down to Earl's Court for the Royal Tournament. We went to RAF Sealand once, and in the evening I took the lad's into to Chester for a night out. When I picked them up later, well most of them, I took the wrong road out of Chester and we ended up driving round North Wales for an hour to many choruses of "Show Me The Way To Go Home" sung between the Rugby songs. |
