I learnt never to put your trousers, neatly folded, on a bedroom table at Schafoldendorf R&R centre in the Hartz mountains. ‘Cos, sure as eggs is eggs, in the dead of night someone - who must be a novice imbiber - will tip his part drunk bottle of cherry brandy all over your trews and in the morning your they (the trews) will lift the varnish off the table in one sheet. The up side is, that the crease will be as sharp as a razor, but who would want an RAF profile from the left and an army one from the right? |
