Cyprus 1974 in 2007 written by Roy Whittall
I was sent to Cyprus afterFamagusta was taken over, to look after the Refugees in Achna Forrest. My time out there as an 18 year old was very much an eye opener. If you can remember the old tents that we used to go camping with that slept 4 and nothing else you get the idea. We had up to 10 sleepig in one of these.I was amazed at how the Greek Cipriots adapted to life, and things have changed, even to day. They have now a proper village of bricks and mortor and they have built a tent out of brick asa tribute to those who lived and died there |
