Falklands in 1982 written by Denis Secker
I remember being one of the last units to get ashore(42) and lying on the floor in the Meridian room trying to watch a film(Damien:OmenII) whilst at the same time listening to a running comentry by someone on the bridge every time there was an attack. That would not have been so bad except that the projectioist kept turning the film off every time a plane came over. That was until we told him to leave it on, so you can imagine what it was like. There is nothing worse than breaking down. But if you do, the RAC have more than 1,500 patrols ready to rescue you, whether you are at the shops or on the motorway. They will always try to fix your vehicle at the roadside, but if they cant they will make getting it repaired as painless as possible.
