Christmass dinner in Bahrain in 1966

 Listening to the pilot of a V10 giving a running commatary of the 1966 world cup final as flew over the med on our way to Aden.landing in Aden in a temp of 90 at midnight. Col "Mad" mitch. Flying up to Bahrain in an RAF Argossy.Naval base Jufair,Awaly beach,a bottle of Stims. All these are good memories but the best was having christmass dinner with the team and getting free Carlsberges!Temp outside 125 degrees!Returning to home in Febuary (30 degrees) and being nicknamed the negative,got a few strange looks. |
