CORONATION YEAR in 1953

 HELP! Is there anyone out there who was a member of (or associated with or knows about) the Bluejacket Band that was especially formed in March of 1953(from members of all four Commands) at Victory Barracks (now HMS Nelson) for the Coronation - and after the Coronation, the Royal Tattoo at Earls court plus a few other memorable performances, eventually disbanded in the July. I am looking for memories and if possible pictures, as I would like to put together the story of this 'once in a lifetime' occasion for Naval amateur musicians. |
