, Winston Churchhill Funeral 30th January 1965 in 1965 written by glyndwr owen hughes
Remember it well. 4.30am the week before, for the dress rehearsal. 5 miles slow marching, then trying to get back to the order, with the S.L.R from reverse order. Yes I remember it well. The great organization of the men by R.S.M Randall. The Sergeant at the back of the coffin making sure they did not loose it half way up St.Paul steps. Mick Cotteral was his name.Yes I remember it well. That bright Feburary morning on that day, the crowds more than for George the 6th.Yes I remember it well. |
