HDS RAF 16MU STAFFORD in 1972 written by Terry jones
This large shed complex was were a lot of Suppliers worked I arrived here after completing my supply training at Stafford in Jan 1971 and I was on the ground floor at first doing issue's and receipts it was a great place to work you were given a iso car to go down these long corridors which contained aircraft componets, these iso cars were battery powered a sort of golf buggy great fun when you were racing with your mates but if the snco's or officers saw you big trouble.
This complex also housed many wrafs and airmen from the supply trade.
eventually I was moved to the second floor were most of the nimrod spares were held, great times and memories from 1971-73 |
