Depot Troop 11 Signal Regt. Helles Lines Catterick in 1977 written by Bob (Nobby) Clark
Were we a ’happy bunch’.... not really. I remember that we were the all the ’Odds and Sods’, so I recall, awaiting postings or discharge to Civvy Street. I do remember the Troop SNCo -- S/Sgt Dutch Holland.
What a Boozy Time was had by some of us in the RCT Bar on the Camp Lines down near Camp Centre in Catterick Garrison. Sometimes I got down at the Colburn Lodge Pub, or into Richmond, Darlington and some of the country pubs around the Garrison area.
today, I sometimes swing through Catterick Camp Centre every now and again when driving up the A1 to Scotland on holiday. Not much has changed around Camp Centre, but many other places have disappeared. The large NAAFI Club at Camp Centre near the Old Picture House. All gone many years ago, so I believe.
(Some bad memories, some mediocre, none happy!!) |

There is nothing worse than breaking down. But if you do, the RAC have more than 1,500 patrols ready to rescue you, whether you are at the shops or on the motorway. They will always try to fix your vehicle at the roadside, but if they cant they will make getting it repaired as painless as possible.
