28 (Br) Signal Regt St Tonis Krefeld in 1966 written by Bob (Nobby) Clark
Any old timers from 28 (BR) Sig Regt still around out there. I was posted there in 1964 -- 1967. do you remember the CO, Lt Col. Pagan and his 'pagan jokes'. Also the RSM, Mr Spence. I was in 'B' Troop 2Squadron under Capt MON 'dickie' Bird. Also, the annual 'Quick Train' (Snell Zug) exercises we used to have to go on!!Whilst there I was on a detachment to Tongeren in Belgium where we workd in the 'Caves' near Maastricht, Holland. Anyone who was at Tongeren, do you remeber 'Maddys Cafe' and all tbe boozy days and nights spent there --- happy days!!
I was also on a 6 month detachment to the Un at Nicosia airport with UNFICYP. I was part of the Royal Signals Det at Nocosia where we worked in the big old hangar as the UN HQ. All the 'boozy nights' at that place....

There is nothing worse than breaking down. But if you do, the RAC have more than 1,500 patrols ready to rescue you, whether you are at the shops or on the motorway. They will always try to fix your vehicle at the roadside, but if they cant they will make getting it repaired as painless as possible.
