Battle ship to DestroyerVanguard in 1950

 Vanguard was great in more ways than one.Dining halls,laundry, cinema, steady as a rock at sea.My first ship I thought this is the life for me.Then, a rude awakening, a draft to Wrangler, pre conversion.Canteen messing, whats a straight rush I said.a bucket for dhobying,sea water sloshing around the messdeck from the hull @ fire pump thoughtfully situated on the messdeck.A very uncomfortable passage of the Pentland Firth.They said Nelson was always sea sick, if you cant take ajoke you should'nt have joined.
