Albany Barracks Isle of Wight in 1948

 My family were in married quarters in Albany Baracks I.O.W. I had two sisters and we attended school in Ryde. I remember the Cunninghams, Haywards, Lucas, Crisp and Fox. We would walk to Gurnard for an afternoons swimming then walk bak to Albany. I moved there on 16th June 1947 and left to go to Portsmouth in January 1950. During my adult years especially when in certain company (Hoity Toity)I enjoyed the look on the faces when I assured them I had spent 3 years in Albany which is now a high security prison.
