Coronation Day-June2ND.1953 in 1953 written by david hearn
Two of us airmen, were "selected?"to represent R.A.F. Duxford for this occasion. We were to march the route, ahead of the Royal coach. For this we trained for two weeks at R.A.F.Uxbridge,marching through the town, then along Western Avenue etc.Prior to the day,we,along with many other Commonwealth personal, stayed in Earls Court, sleeping in three tiered bunk's then all marched (in the rain to the starting point.MANY fond memories of this event.
Are there any other person(s)who partook in this march?. |
