Guards Depot 1956 in 1956 written by Thomas Brindle
I joined the Coldstream Gds in 1956 and I will never forget walking into the depot at Caterham, to be met by one of the biggest sargeants ever seen.He shouted "Runner" by the time I picked up my suitcase he was at the top of the barrack square and waiting for us round the corner we soon got used to the fast pace of everthing and went on to Pirbright then onto the £rd Battalion until 1959 |
