Grand Central Hotel, Royal Avenue, Belfast in 1975 written by David Campbell
It was a rainy day in Belfast, or at least I remember it that way, the entire Medical Section was in the sitting room area of the Medical Centre on the Mezzanine Floor of the Hotel. The television was on and I am fairly sure that the program was "Lost in Space". There was this almighty and the windows in the sleeping area, and the treatment area were blown inwards, and all of us were trying to put on flak jackets, buckle on belts and pistols, grab radio's and exit through the one doorway. As I remember I was the last to reach the door and the MO, Terry McCabe said I should wait there in case any casualties were brought from inside the building. I was alone for about half an hour I suppose, saw two very minor casualties, when everyone returned. It was one of the longest half hours of my life. That day I found out that Adrenaline is truly 'brown'. |
