Glassmullen, West Belfast in 1977 written by Mark Simpson
First tour of Northern Ireland, attached to Drums Platoon under the command Of WO2 Bill Lively (nice bloke).Made life long friends with the likes of Woody, Florence, Mark and last but definately not least, Mutley. Good tour, odd 'hot spots', but nothing too serious. Will never forget the feeling of utter contentment after being out all night on patrol to come in, head to the kitchen, make the compulsory 'egg banjos' and then head to the shower block before crashing out! One of many good times had, always brings a smile. |
