Borneo in 1946 written by robert humphreys
Aboard HMS Corbrae,a minesweeper depot ship, one area we swept was at Labuan Borneo,a hellhole for many POW's murdered by the Japs on a march of the giants across the island.A squad of Aussies had the gruesome task of looking
for any remains and gathering them for proper funerals in their homelands,I have never seen or heard this exploit mentioned anywhere, there must be a lot more forgotten atrocities that should be remembered and their memories honoured. What say you? |
