Aden in 1963 written by Jack Olive
I was with No 4 Company, 2nd Coldstream Guards. Base camp at Salerno Lines, Little Aden. Served at Thurmier, Dhala, Cap Badge Picket, Crater, Shiek Othman and others. We lost a good mate in our company by accident, the first to be buried in Silent Valley. Guardsman Haynes killed by a wombat Springfield targetting rifle.
Had some good pals in 45 Commando also. Anybody out there with similar memories? |
