BURMA 118 Royal Light Ack Ack in 1942 written by bernard hughes
I served in Burma from 1942 to 1946. I was a troop sergeant. I should really like to find news of Frank Longridge who I believe came from Newcastle uipon Tyne. Also John Gibbons, Commando, went fro officer training? Also Sgt Goodchild, Sgt Fairbraish (from the Channel Isles) Burt Channon from Bristol, Dicky Bird from Bristol too. When we arrived in India< Banglor, Angur Plain, we had our photos taken - then we were split up. Sgts Bird, Channon, Jack Gee and I were sent to join West Yorkshire Regiment. We then went to Kalibur to man boats which Gen Slim had built at Kelwa. I should likto contact any one with memories of this time. Hoping you can help with my search. |
