CARRYING ON FROM WHEN WE REACHED OUR
REGIMENT WITCH WAS THE 61st L.A.A REG
WE WERE THEN TRANSFERED TO OUR DIFFERENT
BATTERY"S I WAS THEN TRANSFERD TO THE 42nd MORTAR BTRY,WHEN WE GOT THERE OTHERS WERE LEAVEING TO GO BACK HOME.
THE FIRST THING I REMEMBERED WAS HOW
COLD IT WAS, AS WE HAD ARRIVED IN MARCH
AND THE SNOW WAS ABOUT SIX FOOT HIGH I
THINK IT WAS ABOUT JUNE BEFORE I WAS THAWED OUT.
THEN WE WERE ALL GOING DOWN WITH ONE THING OR A NOTHER I/E THE TROTS / MALARIA AND ANY THING ELSE THAT WAS GOING.
I MET MY BEST MATE ON THE CAMP AND HE SHOWED ME THE ROPES AS TO THE BEST
WAY ON HOW TO DO THINGS.
