RAF Seletar Singapore (MCS) in 1955 written by Frank Preston
I was posted to RAF Seletar from RAF Mount Battern and did my cox'n 2 course at Seletar. The names of Jonny Joise, Chriss Taylor, Albert Huggings, Tiny Bogard, Sqn Ldr. Daddy Hanson, Curly Heatherington, Mick Saurey, Sgt (3 Fingers) Johnston, Vic Widdop, Stand out in my mind. The comedien Pam Aires was a WAF there at the time and brought back some wonderful memories of riding down to the pool and having to dodge the monkey's.
I was in H Block and at the end of my tour I was upset to see several Sunderland flying boats being scrapped just behind the block. I loved the Marine craft section and miss my old mates. As I am writing a book about all the mad characters we knew I would welcome any contact
