| I am sorry  THE mum who urinated on a war memorial, then performed a sex act next to it, has issued a grovelling apology.
Wendy Lewis, 43, said: "I was extremely intoxicated. My life has been hell on earth ever since. I can only apologise."
She fled a court in Blackpool, Lancs, last week as magistrates were set to sentence her for outraging public decency at the resort’s seafront cenotaph. A warrant was issued for her arrest.

In a statement, unmarried Lewis - branded "disgusting" by war veterans - added: "Nothing can minimise the seriousness of what I did.
"I only realise now the impact on those who served in the Forces. That night I had a complete lack of awareness."
Lewis, of Blackpool, said she had got involved with a heroin addict who abused her, and added: "Both my children have been taken away."
