Poems

Slowly, silently, now the moon
Walks the night in her silver shoon;
This way, and that, she peers, and sees
Silver fruit upon silver trees;
One by one the casements catch
Her beams beneath the silvery thatch;
Couched in his kennel, like a log,
With paws of silver sleeps the dog;
From their shadowy cote the white breast peep
Of doves in silver-feathered sleep;
A harvest mouse goes scampering by,
With silver claws and a silver eye;
And moveless fish in the water gleam,
By silver reeds in a silver stream.

Look after yourself! it's the only place you've got to live in.

POEMS

The previous poem is by Walter De La Mare - only just saw I’d left out the important bit!!

This latest poem was a school-days party piece.  My English teacher used to make me stand out front and recite this at any given moment -its burnt into my memory!! but it always gives me a fluttery tummy reminder of walking out to the front of the class....my pals used to say it made them shiver because I recited it as if telling a ghost story!
See! even then I was a right’un.

So , next time there is a full harvest moon stand in the garden and really think about the words - I have scared the beegeezus out of many a stray tom-cat!...but I consider that a good thing about myself....

I could never aspire to such as your last addition but I have come across some pieces I have: as a calligraphist, been commissioned to copy for gifts so I shall add them.

Also thank you Trevor for your cake it is yummy but I fear not enough candles....more’s the pity

Cheers the noo Teresa(noH) xx

Thank you for your kind wishes Margaret I intend enjoying myself tomorrow, to the full, starting with being Chauffeur driven to London then straight into the Bar after booking into the airport!! " I will not go quietly into the night.. " This is a little luxury as I had originally planned to drive down to London and leave my car at my daughter’s house near Stansted and she was taking me to the airport. Unfortunately they & the whole village are all down with a flu bug and she was afraid of me catching it, ruining my holiday. So I decided that I couldn’t be bothered with alternatives and just booked a stylish mode of travel - and I do so like style......... Thanks again x Teresa(noH)
