Bridgnorth Square Bashing

I was there in June 1961. I remember the Jab parade. Walking though the line of medical orderlies and receiving the various vaccinations, then lining up outside. It was an unusually warm and sunny day and a lot of the lads keeled over.

Bridgenorth

I went to Bridgenorth in January 1962, I was only there two weeks as I was a re entrant, did four years 1955 to 1959. We were met at Bridgenorth station and bussed to camp, when we were met at the station the D.I. corporal called us gentleman and when I asked him about it he said they were not allowed to shout or swear at the trainees anymore. From there I went to Spitalgate which as most will know was the WRAF recruiting depot, what a tiring posting that was!!!!! spent two and a half years there then posted for a rest.

Ron it must have changed just after I got there then, because I remember vividly looking at our DI’s tonsils as he shouted at me from about 2 inches away.

RAF Bridgenorth

Hi Everyone, am quite new at this game but being "Ex RAF" Thought I would give it a go!As I was Browsing thru I spotted Bridgenorth.
My Brother served at Bridgenorth from Aug 1960 and left there after recruit training to go to RAF Melksham.  I have been on to PMC at Innsworth for his service records but the details were so sparse, they just sent one card with is service number (4260296) andhis postings to Ballykelly after Melksham. He joined 203 Sqdn Coastal Command (Shackletons)and was with them untul his service and his life ended suddenly in 1965! I would dearly like to find anyone who new him or had a hut photo or a sqdn photo. I am desperate for anything! Its late in my life now so I’m getting more desperate. If anyone can help me at all.....well I think you will all know what it means
Thank you for reading this anyway.
regards
Al Coutts (RAF Ret’d) (Ex Blanket Stacker!) or I think the current term is now Duvet Consultant!!!
