After flying in from serving in Afghanistan to be Pall bearers at their Mates funeral, a Cpl. Michael Thacker who was shot dead in Helmand province June 1st.Six of his best Friends broke off rehearsing for the funeral last Monday morning at 06.30. and went for a Tea / Coffee. Though they were wearing their No. 2 uniform (Dress uniform, brass buttons and pressed trousers) they were refused entry, Apparently they violated "Browns Bar Coventry"dress code. Dirty jeans , hooded tops i guess would be ok.
So you can serve your country, even be killed but cant have a cup of tea in your own country. These lads from the 1st. Battalion The Royal Welsh carried on and buried their comrade later that day.
The owner has apologised, as usual after the event. "We dont allow troops in Fatigues" As though he would know the difference.
If you live round that way do drop in to "Browns" and pass on Forces Reun. Compliments. | | Report Post |
