Phil Beacall "It must be accepted as a princ"

Membership Level: Basic Posts: 707 Status: Offline | Quoting: Ray Rice I have just discovered that the brother of my maternal grandfather was a quartermaster sargeant in the 1st Border Regiment, probably from 1914 or so until the 1930’s/40’s. Any thoughts on how I might research this further? I have tried Ancestry and findmypast, but no record of him (Walter Edwin Robins, b 1885) was found.
Hello Ray, as your relative was in service before, during and after 1921, only the MoD will hold his Full Service Record.
Any information available on the internet would be information obtained by Researchers or Historians from information or records such as Manning Rosters/Nominal Rolls, Memorials, Local historical records.
If you visit the Tutorials page on the war records website you will locate contact addresses etc so you can obtain records from the MoD if you are the next of Kin.
