Queens 60th celebrations week:
Knock at the door around 4pm, wife opened the door and was confronted by two children,girl and a boy about 8 years old rattling an old jam jar with a slot in the lid " will you give something to the Queens party"--the wife was that much taken back at their approach that she gave them 20p each. She told her sister about it and her sister said that they had been there too and were give some coppers but she said that she saw them later on sharing the money out and going into the sweet shop--- kids seem to catch on fast to the scams these days---I wonder how many doors they knocked on and how much they eventually got. | | Report Post |
