People on the Right usually have a modicum of wealth, and have a strong desire to retain it, and object strongly to anyone who tries to take it away.
People on the Left have not a lot, and they strongly desire to share the wealth of those on the Right, and will devise any method imaginable which will allow them to get their fingers on the lucre.
People in the Center, well they are neither here nor there, and as such, usually spin in ever diminishing circles and finish up with their heads up their own orifices.
Meanwhile Joe Public votes for representatives of these people to be in office and in position to rule/govern this country, pays them handsomely, and allows them to fiddle expenses with very little recourse of being prosecuted, or forced to repay said illegal expenses, these are the really clever people, they live high on the hog, without ever having to do anything productive.
Housing/food/transport/expenses/personal items/and virtual immunity from the law, are all part and parcel of the good life, for the modern Political Elite.
