! Million members

Well Pamela I blame the Govinmint. Why not? They get blamed for everything else but seriously these things have been raised before. It seems every time the site gets a revamp some things go askew.

We are now apparently one million strong and yet the facilities are less than we had when I joined which was some time ago. I can’t recall how many members there were then but I think it wasn’t above 150,000.

I too would like to add a couple of videos but have given up trying for the present.

We can but await developments!

Thank you for that Terry, I can exactly see why it isn’t working (double space converted to ascii code) and in new posts we use a different method for finding posts which is why that is working.

We can certainly fix this occasion, but I think it will be difficult to fix all issues like this as a certainty as we almost have to wait until members create the errors for us to fix them, as it will be weird things like this that cause the errors which are very difficult to second guess until they happen.

I still can’t get on to the thread Dom even via the ’All new posts’ method. In fact it is quite a common occurrence that no matter what I try I cannot get any access when an ’unavailable’ message pops up.

It does raise the question wherther or not it is anything to do with a quirk in some member’s computers. They are finicky things at times and I suppose mine is no exception. The words ’boot’ and ’window’ sometimes seem appropriate.

Pamela has mentioned the Video Search facility and I always felt it was better as it was originally set up. Much clearer and easier to navigate. Any thoughts on that?

Terry, I have this problem quite ofton, I read a post (say in General for example) i then try to go to All New Posts up comes this page is unavailable so the only way i can then read any is to go into the "General" and view the last post, then it will be O.K. for a while. I might not be explaining it clearly but it only ever happens on F.Reu. so i am sure it is not a computor fault. (This has been happening for a long time, (very irritating).
