[QUOTE]Quoting: Terry Carey
[I]

And, if he can’t afford it then he hasn’t even got horse sense.  Remember the old song?

   ’Horses don’t bet on people,
   Horses have too much sense,
   Horses don’t bet on people,
And that’s why they never go broke.

Terry. On Saturday at Aintree a man sidled up to me and whispered "Would you like the winner of the next race?.  I told him "Thank you, that is very generous but we only have a small garden and also we are both out at work all day".

Ps. T.O.J. A. T. B.

Was that poem penned by that well known trainer called Walter de la Mare?

Greetings Gentlefolk,

Have no doubt that when I quote from a song then it does actually exist.   I heard it many times when I was a young (well fairly young) shaver.

It was a comedy song (No!  Honestly?) but although I can recall the tune of the bit quoted I can’t remember anything of the rest - words or music.

TC.

[QUOTE]Quoting: Colin Davies
[I]

No tears at all, if he can afford to bet £50,000, he can afford to lose it, he knows the risks.

By a bizarre  coincidence the owner of the Grand National favourite Syncronised which was killed on Saturday also owned the second placed horse, beaten in a photo finish in the same race.
